I've been really astounding myself lately with the amount of sewing I've been doing - typically I'm the sort that picks things up and then finds something new and distracting and that's that, but I actually started and finished my Posy quilt top within two weeks! And I documented a lot of it on Instagram, so I have lots of photos so show! ♥
It all started with a swap...
Then finding a pattern...
...and then follow-through...
I would just like to say how incredibly proud of myself I am! I expected my first finished quilt top to be the one I started first (Swoon), but this fabric, and the generosity from the giver, really put me into motion. I know it's not perfect, plenty of my strips are mis-aligned, I was a little bit lazy with the layout, and I had to use two different white fabrics. But I don't care about any of that! It's very difficult for me to let go of my hold on a project and say, 'this is good, this is complete, this is my ability level right now', instead of endlessly fussing and never being satisfied. I am satisfied. I absolutely cannot wait to put together the backing and actually quilt!
What better time to link up to Fresh Sewing Day? This feels like such a fresh start to the month ♥ Don't forget about the Let's Get Acquainted Link Up, too!
Over from Lily's quilts, lovely fresh bright quilt top! good luck with the quilting!

Who can't love pink and floral? c: Thanks!
DeleteYour quilt top is stunning! I adore Posy & have a tiny charm pack that I have been adding 2.5" squares to - someday I will have enough for a scrappy:-)
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Posy has totally stolen my heart (did you see the preview of Hello Petal?? I feel like that one's next). I actually have a charm and mini charm pack as well that I'll be using for the quilt back! I hope you get to finish your scrappy Posy, that'd be too cute ♥
DeleteSo pretty - I usually have the same project ADD you do, I just get over excited and start something else! But glad you finished this one - it's so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's such a bad habit! Don't get me started on the amount of cross stitching projects I'm working on right now...
DeleteBy the way, you have great taste in blog themes ;) ♥
I love this quilt! The fabric is so gorgeous isn't it, really tempted to invest in some as it's just my kind of colours.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! You really should get some, it's one of my favorite fabric lines to date. Even the more simple patterns have detailing and cuteness! Have you seen Aneela Hoey's preview for her new line Hello Petal?? It's shaping up to be just as adorable.
DeleteCongratulations on an absolutely wonderful finish!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I can't believe I actually did it!
DeleteCongratulations! Can't wait to see it quilted! It is a lovely finish! Hoping to see more from you I will follow!
ReplyDeleteThanks! ♥♥ Oh gosh, I haven't even started thinking about quilting designs....eek! :)
DeleteYour quilt is so lovely! I really love the little bunnies, too cute.
ReplyDeleteThe bunnies are my favorite, too! And my husband's, haha c:

DeleteI love your quilt, it's gorgeous! (I popped over from Annabella's blog and I'm so glad I did!)
ReplyDeleteAww thank you ♥ You're too kind!
DeleteIt's such a pretty quilt!! I feel the same way about the summer - I much prefer cooler temps so I'm totally living in the wrong climate! Thanks for linking up today :)
ReplyDeleteThank you ♥ Posy makes everything wonderful! Also, I think I just need to move back to CA, get back to those 75 degree days all year :D
DeleteSo precious! It is certainly feminine. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I'm glad my husband likes pink as much as I do...
DeleteDid I read this right? Your first quilt?! Love it! Congrats and great job! I love Posy so much and I used the line in one of my first quilts. I'm always tempted to stock up on it for a future, non-existant baby. It's so lovely!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to find another new quilter :)
Yes!! Thank you so much ♥ I have a bunch of blocks for a variety of other quilts that I've been working on, but somehow this quilt just pulled me in and made me finish it off right away. I will always encourage people to get more Posy - the illustrations are so precious. I love the bunny in the haycart!
DeleteAre you a part of the New Blogger Blog Hop? I just saw the button on your blog! I'm participating too!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much! It will be much loved for as long as possible, I can guarantee that ♥
DeleteCome on over into the German rain, you'll wish for summer back again in no time...! The posy quilt will be lovely.
ReplyDeleteRain sounds so nice right now! It's usually over 100F during the middle of the day, it just feels like you're baking out on the asphalt. Well into September!! It's just not right, ha.
DeleteThank you! I do hope that I don't somehow ruin it when I try to finish it...
wow lovely quilt! I love the fabric too! Over from LGAM
